Man Utd legend mocked in Spain World Cup celebrations as incident with Crystal Palace star goes …

It wasn't a spectacular final, but Spain's World Cup celebrations have more than made up for that. Amid all the excitement, however, some disparaging comments made about Cristiano Ronaldo have gone viral.

Argentina posed little threat throughout the final, as they failed to get on the scoresheet. Lionel Scaloni's men did drag the game to extra-time, but having seen Enzo Fernandez sent off earlier, they failed to cling on for penalties. Spain's Ferran Torres won the game and the tournament with an emphatic finish in the 106th minute.

The final took place in New Jersey but it wasn't long before Luis de la Fuente's side were back in their home country, welcomed upon their return to Madrid by around two million fans. Since then, the partying has been wild and joyous – although the Spaniards have also found time to dig out Ronaldo.

The World Cup winners met Spain's royals and Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez, before setting off through the streets of Madrid on an open-top bus. This led to Cibeles Square, one of Madrid's most renowned landmarks, where 120,000 supporters gathered to watch the players be introduced on stage.

Plenty of footage from these celebrations has emerged online, but one moment in particular has gone viral. Unfortunately for former Real Madrid ace Ronaldo, the incident comes at his expense. Indeed, in the capital city in which he used to score so many goals, the Portuguese striker was mocked.

To get the crowd going, host Raul Ramos would introduce all the members of the Spain squad one-by-one. When it came to bringing Crystal Palace's Yeremy Pino to the front, Ramos could not help but mock Ronaldo, saying:

“Back in Lomo del Chentchi, they used to call Pino ‘Cristiano Ronaldo.’ The only difference? Pino has a World Cup.”

The footage has gone viral in numerous places, with the Spanish crowd and players very much enjoying the moment. Watch below:
