Galatasaray are still dreaming of signing Manchester United‘s Bruno Fernandes this summer, and don’t look set to give up.
On June 30th, Sport Witness covered a claim from Turkey of Galatasaray interest in the midfielder.
The Turkish club have to convince the Manchester United player to stand a chance of securing his services.
Manchester United star main target
Turkish journalist Yağız Sabuncuoğlu, who is usually reliable, now covers the latest on the Istanbul club’s transfer dream, and Haber Sarı Kırmızı have relayed his comments.
Galatasaray are working on improving multiple areas this summer, including the No.10 position, where the 31-year-old is a target.
“Galatasaray will make a significant transfer for the number 10 position,” he said.
“They will also sign a left-sided centre-back and a central midfielder. As a surprise, if an opportunity arises, they might sign a winger. A winger transfer could be a surprise.”
Fernandes said to be open
Last summer, the Portugal international had an opportunity to move to Saudi Arabia and the Reds Devils were prepared to sell him.
Yağız Sabuncuoğlu claims Bruno Fernandes is open to joining Galatasaray this summer.
The Süper Lig winners have to convince Manchester United, and the journalist states they are willing to negotiate for €70-75m.
“I said Bruno Fernandes was ‘a dream,’ but don’t take that in a negative way. Let me put it this way, they’re asking for €70-75m in transfer fees. That’s the part I meant when I said it was a dream,” Sabuncuoğlu explained.
“If Galatasaray agrees to pay that amount, Bruno Fernandes is open to coming to Türkiye. I confirmed this with Manchester United. They might be able to go a little below €75m.”
Release clause lower than this amount
This is a surprising claim from Yağız Sabuncuoğlu as Bruno Fernandes reportedly has a £57m [€65m] release clause valid for foreign clubs. There’s been suggestions that this is only valid until mid-July, though.
Manchester United haven’t communicated about his clause or any conditions attached to it.
Fernandes contributed the [21] most Premier League assists last season and barring any surprise, he is likely to have a key role under Michael Carrick next season.
