Manchester United look set to miss out on another transfer target after a Saudi Pro League giant swooped into the race.
According to The Athletic, Al Hilal have agreed a deal with West Ham United for the signing of winger Crysencio Summerville.
West Ham will receive £55 million plus £5m in add-ons, with Summerville also expected to pocket a huge salary.
United made enquiries about the Dutch international last month as they explored options to strengthen the left wing.
A move never gathered real momentum, however, as INEOS waited for clarity over Marcus Rashford after Barcelona decided against activating his purchase option.
Signing Summerville would have come at a premium
Summerville is a talented winger. He is a left winger by trade but excelled on the opposite flank for the Netherlands at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
He scored seven goals and provided five assists in 34 games across all competitions. However, all of his goals came this year after a turbulent 2025.
His explosive acceleration and willingness to attack defenders made him a good fit for United.
The Red Devils already possess a similar profile on the opposite flank in Amad Diallo, making Summerville an attractive tactical fit.
Despite his obvious talent, a deal worth £60m would have represented a significant financial gamble.
He would have provided competition for Matheus Cunha while sharing game time with Patrick Dorgu on the left wing.
A package closer to £40m-50m, including bonuses, would have represented far better value.
Not entering a bidding war for the 24-year-old was the right decision by INEOS.
