Man Utd are preparing a €60m (£51m) offer for Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Warren Zaire-Emery, according to reports in France.
Top Mercato claim that sources have told them that the Red Devils want to table an opening proposal to gauge whether the European champions are open to selling the 20-year-old.
However, it seems that United’s first bid will be rejected, with PSG said to be holding out for around €80m (£68m).
That is still less than what Michael Carrick’s side were willing to pay for Mateus Fernandes, but it is not known whether they would splash out that much on Zaire-Emery.
What do Man Utd fans need to know about the player?
Zaire-Emery joined PSG’s academy in 2014 when he was just 8 years of age, and he has moved up to the club’s youth ranks over the past decade.
The holding midfield player made his senior debut against Clermont Foot in August 2022, and he has gone on to make 183 appearances.
While Zaire-Emery has played most of his football as either a no.8 or no.6, he has been selected as an inverted right-back on a regular basis too, having made 42 starts in that position.
Last season, the France international started 45 times in all competitions, so he isn’t exactly on the periphery of Luis Enrique’s first-team plans.

Zaire-Emery is one of several targets
While the PSG star is seemingly under consideration for United’s third midfield signing of the summer, the Red Devils are also looking at other options.
Roma’s Manu Kone, Fulham’s Sander Berge, Bournemouth’s Alex Scott, Borussia Dortmund’s Felix Nmecha and Como’s Martin Baturina have also been looked at, if reports are to be believed.
Berge would be the cheapest, followed by Kone, while the likes of Scott, Baturina, Zaire-Emery and Nmecha would be a lot more expensive.
