Manchester United have set their sights on a surprise swoop for Crystal Palace frontman Ismaila Sarr.
According to Foot Mercato, the Red Devils have enquired about his availability this summer and whether a deal would be feasible.
How Ismaila Sarr has fared as of late
The 28-year-old is on the back of an impressive year at both club and international level.
For the Eagles last term, he played an integral role in the side securing their first-ever major European honour in the form of the UEFA Conference League.
Sarr was named the competition’s Player of the Season after notching nine goals in Palace’s 13-match journey to lifting the trophy.

At the World Cup, he returned a hugely impressive four goals and two assists in just four appearances for Senegal on the biggest stage in football, so it’s no surprise he’s caught INEOS chiefs’ eyes in recent weeks.

Why are United targeting Sarr?
Their interest comes amid reports that United are seeking another forward signing to ease the goalscoring burden on Benjamin Sesko.
In addition, the young Slovenian, 22, has yet to fully recover from the shin injury that ended his maiden term prematurely.
Sesko suffered a reaggravation of an existing problem when he was barged off the field and into the advertising boards by Ibrahima Konate at Old Trafford.
It led to him being ruled out of the final three matches of 2025/2026, meaning he was unable to add to his tally of 11 Premier League goals.

While he has been back at Carrington with the squad this month, Sesko was ruled out of United’s pre-season opener against Wrexham in Finland last weekend.
There is still a month to go before the official beginning of the Premier League season, which sees United travel to face newly promoted Hull City on August 22, but you can understand the club harbouring concerns over his condition – hence seeking a backup No.9.
