Need to know
Man United have launched a new blue away kit for the 2026/27 season and it is set to get its debut on the pitch sooner than expected.
United will wear their new away kit for the first time this week
All you need to know about the new Manchester United away kit after it was launched on Wednesday morning.
Manchester United will wear their new away kit for the first time against Rosenborg on Friday after reverting to a classic design for the 2026/27 campaign.
United will wear the blue kit against the Norwegian side at the Lerkendal Stadion in their second pre-season friendly of the summer, and will give it another outing the following week.
That will come when the opposition steps up a level for Michael Carrick's side, when they face Atletico Madrid in Stockholm on Saturday, August 1. With Atletico set to wear their traditional red-and-white stripes, United will again wear their new blue away kit.
United have historically worn a bold blue away strip, but this is the first time they have returned to that style since the 2016/17 season, when Jose Mourinho was in charge. It was a regular strip during the 1980s.
The away kit was seen for the first time during the World Cup final, when it was worn in the stands by Stormzy, but it is now available to the rest of the public.
United said of the kit that it's a "design that revisits one of the club's most iconic away identities through a modern lens."
It comes with matching royal blue shorts and socks and includes red adidas stripes and red and white edging.
The kit is available now from Fanatics, the United Store, the adidas online shop and selected adidas stores.
