Manchester United have reportedly added Bournemouth star Tyler Adams to their midfield shortlist.
The Red Devils have already announced their first two midfield captures of the summer, spending £48 million on Andrey Santos and £35 million on Youri Tielemans.
The former Chelsea and Aston Villa stars will join Kobbie Mainoo in the department, but a fourth midfielder is still required.
Man Utd keeping tabs on Tyler Adams
Over the past few days, United were said to be gathering steam before launching an onslaught for Roma midfielder Manu Kone, who enjoyed a solid World Cup campaign.
Man Utd are being simultaneously linked with Alex Scott, a 22-year-old Bournemouth midfielder, who is considered one of the best rising stars in the Premier League.
Nevertheless, the England international might not be the only Bournemouth player on their shortlist.
According to English football journalist Sam Cohen, Man Utd are also tracking Adams, who been a stalwart for the Cherries since 2023.

Adams is a New York native who represented the NY Red Bulls, RB Leipzig and Leeds United in the past. He has also been a stalwart for the USMNT, where he has been praised for his ‘formidable’ leadership qualities.
The midfielder’s contract with the Cherries will expire in June 2028, and Transfermarkt estimates his value at €25 million.
Is Adams the right profile for Man United?
In Santos and Tielemans, Man Utd now have two players capable of filling the No.6 role, albeit with different characteristics, as the Brazilian exells at winning back possession, while the Belgian acts as the team’s metronome.
Therefore, Michael Carrick might want to shore up the department with box-to-box midfielder who thrives in carrying the ball forward, rather than a holding midfielder like Adams, who tends to sit deep.
Hence, Kone and Scott might be more fitting options considering their attributes and ability to push forward, even though they’re likely to cost more than the American international.
