Man Utd are lining up a “formal offer” for San Lorenzo goalkeeper Orlando Gill, according to reports in the Argentinian media.
Vamos Ciclon claim that the Red Devils may well table a proposal for the Paraguayan international “before the weekend,” although so far no official approach has been made.
Gill has just returned to training, having played every minute for his country at the World Cup.
The 26-year-old played in all three group games, the famous victory over Germany in the round of 32 (where he saved two penalties in the shootout), and the defeat to France in the last 16.
Gill is available for a very low price
The shot-stopper is believed to have a release clause in his contract, which means he can leave San Lorenzo for just $7m or £5.2m.
United may see Gill’s availability for such a modest sum as an opportunity that is too good to turn down.

Do Man Utd need another goalkeeper?
Manager Michael Carrick is not exactly short of options in goal. Karl Darlow has recently been snapped up on a free transfer, meaning there are currently FIVE senior keepers on the Manchester club’s books.
Along with Darlow, Carrick can call upon first-choice Senne Lammens, Tom Heaton, Altay Bayindir and Radek Vitek. The latter two are expected to leave Old Trafford either on loan or on a permanent basis.
Bayindir has suitors in Turkey, while Vitek has spoken out publicly in recent days about leaving United, having proven himself during a successful loan spell at Bristol City last season.
Even if the pair were to be offloaded, though, it still leaves three options for Carrick to choose from, so you have to wonder if Gill is really needed.
