United unfazed by contract talks, enquiry now made for dream £70m Casemiro successor

Manchester United have reportedly re-established their interest in signing Aurelien Tchouameni this summer.

According to Samuel Luckhurst, the Red Devils have not been deterred by the reports suggesting that Tchouameni has extended his deal with Real Madrid.

Aurelien Tchouameni: What’s the latest?

At the beginning of the window, the Frenchman’s contract ran until 2028, hence reports suggesting Madrid may cash in before his penultimate season began at the Santiago Bernabeu.

However, it’s recently been claimed that Los Blancos have decided to act on United’s interest in Tchouameni by tying him down to new terms entirely until 2031.

Luckhurst is still of the belief that the agreement has yet to be set in stone between all parties, and took to X/Twitter last night to reiterate United’s desire to prise the 26-year-old from the Spanish giants.

Tchouameni unlikely to be on the move

Fans should perhaps take such claims with a pinch of salt, though, as more outlets have affirmed that Tchouameni will be staying put beyond the transfer deadline – Fabrizio Romano being one.

Instead, INEOS chiefs have begun considering alternative targets to the £70 million-valued Madrid man, such as Alex Scott, Manu Kone, and even Tchouameni’s club teammate and counterpart, Eduardo Camavinga.

Scott would command the most expensive fee of any name on the list, as Bournemouth have absolutely zero desire to part ways with their midfield prospect this summer.

That being said, they have been actively trying to extend his deal at the Vitality Stadium, and have seen two contract offers rebuffed by the 22-year-old.

Madrid are much more open to selling Camavinga than they are Tchouameni, especially if a move for Rodri materialises in the coming weeks, but Camavinga is looking to fight for his future under newly-appointed Jose Mourinho.
