France international Manu Kone looks a good transfer option
France international Manu Kone is a firm transfer option for Manchester United
Manchester United are leading the race to sign AS Roma’s Manu Koné, amid interest from other clubs.
The France international’s future remains uncertain and he could leave the Serie A side this summer.
Over the past two weeks, Manchester United have been working on signing the midfielder.
Last weekend, Sport Witness covered claims from Italy that the Red Devils could submit an offer this week, but that hasn’t happened so far.
Two days ago, we relayed news the English club are in constant contact with the player’s agent. The 25-year-old also wants to move to the Premier League side.
Chelsea, Aston Villa, Liverpool and Arsenal have also shown interest.
Thursday’s edition of Corriere dello Sport doesn’t mention the other English clubs but reports Al-Ahli have joined the race. However, Manchester United are in the lead.
The Saudi club have contacted Manu Koné’s representatives and the Giallorossi, to understand the feasibility and conditions. There hasn’t been a concrete advance yet, but that could happen.
Both his agent and the Italian club are open to negotiating Koné’s sale for the right offer. AS Roma are hoping for a bidding war to secure the best possible deal.

Manchester United have reached an agreement with Manu Koné
Despite interest from multiple clubs, the Red Devils are likeliest to win the race. The newspaper claims they are in constant contact with his camp, and the two parties have reached an agreement in principle.
Manchester United need an agreement with Gian Piero Gasperini’s side, who are awaiting their move.
Corriere states the Old Trafford club are ready to offer a fee close to €50m.
Although this is a ‘significant figure’, the Italian newspaper states Roma now want €60m. That’s an obvious bargaining position and the Serie A club will come down.
Manu Koné represented France at the World Cup and is now on vacation.
However, he continues to receive daily updates from his agent as his future remains one of Roma’s hot topics this summer.
