Manchester United striker Benjamin Sesko has returned to camp in a new and improved physical shape, much to his teammates’ delight.
The 23-year-old signed for the Red Devils last season on a £70 million transfer from RB Leipzig, and was immediately entrusted with leading the line.
The Slovenian had a challenging time under Ruben Amorim, struggling to maintain his starting berth, but showed significant improvement when Michael Carrick took over in January, becoming more clinical and decisive in front of goal.
Benjamin Sesko shows off improved body
Sesko ended his first season at United with 12 goals (11 in the Premier League and one in the FA Cup). Therefore, the goal is to make a significant step-up this season, both in terms of the numbers and performances.
The Slovenian international ended the previous campaign with an injury, and he’s still training on his own.
However, Sesko certainly wasn’t sitting idle during the break, but took the opportunity to work on his physique, as illustrated by the photo he posted on his Instagram account.
The post not only received a large interaction from the fans, but also from his Man Utd teammates.
His captain Bruno Fernandes responded with ‘brate’ (or brother in Slovenian) with a muscle emoji, while his good friend Diogo Dalot jokingly hailed him as Arnold Schwarzenegger’s idol.
“Schwarzenegger, you’re his inspiration 💪🏻❤️ my brate is stronnnng,” posted the right-back.
What’s behind Sesko’s new look?
Sesko isn’t the first player to arrive in England and decide to bulk up. Cristiano Ronaldo’s body transformation might be the blueprint in this regard.
The Premier League is simply the most physical among Europe’s Top 5 leagues, and strikers are expected to go shoulder to shoulder against some of the toughest and physically dominant defenders in the sport.
Hence, Sesko may have realised he needs a larger frame and additional muscle to withstand challenges and act as a battering ram for his team when required.

Standing at an impressive 1.95 meters (6 feet 5 inches), the Slovenian already had a height advantage over the vast majority of his opponents. And thanks to his stronger body, we could be about to witness the rise of one of the most physically dominant centre-forwards in the Premier League.
