Joshua Zirkzee and Shea Lacey shine in Trondheim as Mason Mount excels in a new midfield role, spearheading an impressive Manchester United win against Rosenborg in pre-season.
Why Andrey Santos is a GREAT signing for Manchester United!

Manchester United saw victory in their second match of pre-season against Rosenborg in Trondheim.
Michael Carrick made just two changes at halftime, with the rest of the starting outfielders being withdrawn on the 60-minute mark.
Shea Lacey opened the scoring with a curled finish into the far left post from inside the penalty area. United's No.46 made a run beyond Zirkzee – akin to Jude Bellingham and Harry Kane at the World Cup – and the Dutchman found him with a brilliant ball before Lacey showed his composure.
Joshua Zirkzee followed up after halftime. The former Bayern Munich youngster sold the centre-back and the goalkeeper with two deft feints, having arrived late to the attack. Jacob Devaney added the third soon after. Harry Amass added a fourth from a brilliant Jaydan Kamason cross – and the young right-back impressed again for Ethan Williams' goal: the fifth of the game.
United were likely expecting a tough test, given Rosenborg are roughly a third of the way through their campaign, but Michael Carrick is unlikely to be happy with the slow start to proceedings. The lack of an atmosphere in Trondheim will not have helped matters, either.
The final result should have softened the blow, though.
Radek Vitek – 6
Very little for the youngster to do.
Leny Yoro – 7
Switched from right-back to centre-back at halftime. Looked impressive in both positions.
Harry Maguire – 6
Very little defensive work to do. Only played 45 minutes, but looked steady.
Ayden Heaven – 6
Solid during his 60 minutes
Luke Shaw – 6
Similar to the rest of the backline. Withdrawn at halftime for Amass.
Mason Mount – 8 – POTM
As can be read in more detail in our Five Things Learned piece, Mount adopted a new role against Rosenborg. He abandoned his former all-action style for more of a quarterback approach.
Andrey Santos – 7
Another good performance from the new signing. Michael Carrick will be happy with how Santos has performed so far.
Bryan Mbeumo – 5.5
An odd game for Mbeumo. Started awful. Produced an outstanding nutmeg, delivered a great cross into the box. Struggled again.
Shea Lacey – 7.5
Unlucky not to be rewarded with POTM, but can be happy with his performance. Took his goal very well and deserves more minutes before the season starts.
Patrick Dorgu – 7
Looked OK when on the left, but began to drift inside across his 60 minutes. Found himself in pockets in all areas – did well to get into the game
Joshua Zirkzee – 7
Took his goal unbelievably well. Plays so much better when he drops off the frontline. Formed a good partnership with Lacey
Harry Amass – 7.5
Jaydan Kamason – 7.5
Jacob Devaney – 7
Daniel Armer – 6
Dan Gore – 6
Tyler Fletcher – 6
Jack Fletcher – 6
Toby Collyer – 6
Ethan Wiliams – 6
Chido Obi – 6
Dermot Mee – 6
