Eduardo Camavinga is once again the top name in Old Trafford transfer talk. Reports suggest Real Madrid could finally let him go this summer. According to the latest transfer news, Man United might have a real chance, though the player’s own wishes could still decide the outcome.
Eduardo Camavinga Linked With Old Trafford Move
As reported by ESPN, Manchester United are chasing Eduardo Camavinga, the Real Madrid midfielder. Transfer journalist Nicolo Schira says the Spanish giants are now ready to talk. That club has rarely been open to selling him before. The Red Devils have long liked his energy and skill in midfield. His role in the club’s long-term plans has clearly cooled.
Eduardo Camavinga has not fully lived up to his early promise at the Bernabeu. He often fills in across midfield, and even at left-back, rather than holding one settled position. As reported by CaughtOffside, this shift in role is why English football suitors sense a chance this summer.
As reported by Sky Sports, Real Madrid could listen to offers between £42million and £51million. That fee would be reasonable for a 23-year-old with top-level experience. It also fits United’s recent spending, after adding Andrey Santos and Youri Tielemans to the midfield already. Sky Sports also flagged interest in Fulham’s Sander Berge as a cheaper backup option, priced at around £40million.
A Real Madrid Twist Complicates Things
However, not every source agrees a move is close. Fabrizio Romano says Eduardo Camavinga still wants to fight for his spot at Real Madrid under Jose Mourinho. As reported by TEAMtalk, his message has stayed the same since May. Stay, compete, and prove his worth at the Bernabeu, rather than rush to the Premier League.
That mindset remains the main obstacle for United. Contact with his camp has reportedly happened already. Michael Carrick’s side are also said to be checking on Roma’s Manu Kone as another option, per the same TEAMtalk report.
United’s search for midfield options goes beyond one name. As reported by The Week, his Real Madrid teammate Aurelien Tchouameni is also on United’s radar as a cheaper option. Tchouameni signed a new long-term deal with the club earlier this year, though that has not stopped United from asking about him.
United’s push still shows their priorities under Carrick. The club reached the Champions League with a strong finish last season. Adding real midfield quality is a clear goal for the new campaign. This chase fits into a wider summer rebuild, with the club also weighing options across defense and attack before deadline day.
What Happens Next for Eduardo Camavinga
Right now, nothing is decided for Eduardo Camavinga. Real Madrid are reportedly treating this season as a final test for him under the new setup. Nothing about his next step looks settled yet.
Eduardo Camavinga for Real Madrid in 2025/26, as per FOTMOB:
Competitions Matches Starts Goals Assists Duels Won
La Liga 29 16 1 0 119
Copa del Rey 1 0 0 0 3
UCL 11 5 1 1 45
If his game time stays low, or his form dips, a change of heart is possible. Manchester United seem ready to wait rather than force things. Their scouts stay alert to any shift in mood from the Spanish capital.
For now, this is a story worth watching, not a deal done. Transfer windows move quickly, and United have already added fresh faces this summer. They seem willing to wait for the right midfield piece before the window closes.
