Manchester United do not want to sell Joshua Zirkzee after Juventus made him one of their summer transfer targets while they continue to struggle to secure a deal for Randal Kolo Muani.
Zirkzee is considered one of the important players in the United squad, and the Red Devils believe he can eventually become a successful signing. The club remains convinced that the Dutchman has the qualities needed to make a positive impact.
Juventus consider Zirkzee as an alternative
Since joining Manchester United from Bologna, Zirkzee has struggled to find his best form and has been unable to reproduce the performances that made him a highly regarded player in the Italian top flight.
Juventus are familiar with his qualities from his time in Italy and could consider adding him to Luciano Spalletti’s squad if they fail to reach an agreement to bring Dusan Vlahovic back to the club this summer.
The Bianconeri appreciate what Zirkzee can offer and view him as a possible solution if their main attacking targets cannot be secured. However, any potential move would depend on whether United are willing to accept Juventus’ conditions.
Manchester United set their conditions
According to Tuttosport, United only want to send Zirkzee out on loan so that he can receive regular playing time. They have no intention of selling the forward and will not include an option to make the transfer permanent this summer.
Juventus would therefore have to agree to those terms if they want to sign the Dutchman during this transfer window. If they are unwilling to accept those conditions, there would be little reason for them to continue pursuing a deal.
The Bianconeri’s priority remains securing an agreement to bring Kolo Muani into their squad this summer. If they cannot complete that move, they will then explore other options, with Zirkzee among the alternatives they could consider.
A decision on their attacking plans will depend on how negotiations develop in the coming weeks. Juventus must find the right solution to strengthen their squad, while United remain determined to protect their investment in Zirkzee.
