Liverpool’s pursuit of Bradley Barcola has received a boost with the winger opting against signing a contract extension at PSG and being open to a move to Anfield.
Barcola has emerged as Liverpool’s leading winger target after Yan Diomande and RB Leipzig rebuffed the club’s advances earlier in the summer.
The latest reports from French outlet L’Equipe reveal the 23-year-old has “ceased negotiations” with PSG to extend his current deal beyond 2028, despite being offered a “substantial” pay rise.
There is frustration at his part-time role under Luis Enrique, and transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano has stated that the player is “open” to a Liverpool move this summer.

He has reportedly “given priority to Liverpool if they can get a deal done with PSG,” who are now claimed to be valuing the Frenchman at a staggering €170 million (£145m).
It is a rise on the previously reported demands of €150 million (£127.8m).
Moreover, it would easily surpass the club’s record transfer set last summer for Alexander Isak (£125 million), and has been determined by recent transfer deals for Elliot Anderson (£116m) and Morgan Rogers (£117m).
That is according to Ben Jacobs on X, who reports PSG are “prepared to sell” and rightly adds that Liverpool would “hope to get the price down.”
Bayern Munich, Arsenal, and Chelsea have been listed as the player’s other suitors, though Xabi Alonso’s side have reportedly already been turned down by Barcola.
Liverpool are described as “working on the deal,” but they will look to negotiate the price tag down to a considerably more realistic figure as they look to add Barcola to the fold.
The 23-year-old, who has scored 39 goals in 152 appearances for PSG, sees his natural position on the left wing, which is at odds with Liverpool’s needs on the right flank.
What Andoni Iraola wants in a Liverpool winger
Speaking to Sky Sports earlier this month, Iraola acknowledged the need to sign a winger but emphasised that they must be of a requisite quality – to meet the standards he is now looking to attain at Anfield.
“I cannot talk about players from other teams,” he said when asked about links with Diomande and Barcola.
“It is clear we need a player there, I wouldn’t say to replace Mo Salah, but we need one more winger.
“There are other situations which are not so clear, we have very good players injured. Ekitike, Bradley and Giovanni, players we love.

“We have to take decisions, sometimes it is hard. Sometimes there is a player we can sign to improve as a team, those decisions we are analysing.
“At other clubs, they present you with players you don’t know. With Liverpool, when they present them, you already know them.
“It is not easy, it has to be players who have shown a good level.”
