A popular pub is set to close for a £400,000 refurbishment.
The Tollgate in Old Trafford, a favourite with Manchester United supporters, will close temporarily on July 27 and reopen on August 19.
The refurbishment will create a 'stadium-style experience', featuring a giant HD screen, a state-of-the-art sound system, and tiered seating.
Multiple high-definition screens will also be installed throughout the venue.
The outdoor area will receive a makeover, including the addition of new TV screens to ensure fans don’t miss a moment of the action.
Guests will also be able to use Marston’s ‘Order & Pay’ app.
The Tollgate is calling on the community to help decorate the newly refurbished space with sports memorabilia.
Fans are encouraged to share items that celebrate the achievements of local teams and sports stars, past and present.
Situated directly opposite Trafford Bar Metrolink station, the Tollgate is a five-minute walk from Old Trafford Cricket Ground and just ten minutes from Manchester United’s stadium.
Once reopened, the pub will screen all key sporting fixtures, including football, rugby, cricket, tennis, Formula 1, darts, and horse racing.
The new layout will include regulation dartboards, pool tables, and new competition leagues, alongside free-to-play recreational sessions.
A new range of bar food will be introduced, featuring hand-held bites such as chicken wings, nachos, and burgers.
All draught beers will also be available in two-pint cups.
