Manchester United face a decision to trust in academy graduate Harry Amass or to invest in one of the country’s most promising left-backs in Lewis Hall.
Newcastle defender Hall is open to joining United this summer, and the 21-year-old would cost around £60 million this summer, according to TeamTalk.
But United could save those funds and put their faith in Amass, who has impressed in pre-season so far this summer.

How does Harry Amass compare to Lewis Hall?
United fans were impressed by Amass in the latest 5-0 win over Rosenborg in pre-season. The 19-year-old impressed out on loan at Sheffield Wednesday last season and is now fighting for a spot in Michael Carrick’s squad.
Meanwhile, Hall is already a Premier League-proven star with experience in the Champions League.
United’s faith in youth should lean towards trust being put in Amass, but Hall is a market opportunity that Ineos may feel is too good to turn down.

Financially, it is a much better decision for United to trust in Amass next season.
Amass has bulked up to silence any criticism about his physicality, and his loan moves in the Championship have helped him adapt to the demands of men’s senior football.
If United stick with Amass, it will save Ineos the £60m transfer fee on Hall, as well as his wages.

United still need a third midfield signing, potentially a new centre-back and a new striker – especially if Joshua Zirkzee heads for the exit.
