Manchester United are keen on strengthening the left-hand side of Michael Carrick’s squad this summer and have identified Lewis Hall as a suitable candidate to do so.
That’s according to Andy Mitten, who adds that the Red Devils would not be targeting certain players if they didn’t believe that they wanted to play for the club.

Alas, it seems as though Hall has opened the door to a move to Old Trafford, which does align with numerous reports doing the rounds.
The 21-year-old has established himself as one of the most coveted stars in his position across Europe – to the point he’s previously been deemed ‘one of the best left-backs in the world’ when at his best.

Such recognition has kept Newcastle United on their toes, however, as they are aware of outside interest in Hall and have set his valuation in the region of £55 million.
Hall could leave Newcastle after only two years
The youngster made the switch to St . James’ Park in 2024 after spending the 2023/2024 term on loan with Newcastle.
That subsequent summer, the Magpies made his signing permanent for £35m (£28m upfront plus £7m in add-ons) and tied him down to a contract until June 2029.
Hall has since played a vital role in Eddie Howe’s squad when called upon, which has seen him also earn four senior England caps.
Yet, he was said to feel aggrieved over Howe’s handling of him throughout the second half of 2025/2026, as it resulted in him being left out of Thomas Tuchel’s World Cup squad.
At United, he would likely spend the first year as Luke Shaw’s understudy, rotating with the senior Red in the league, Europe and both cup competitions.

Then, the following campaign, Hall would be the first-choice left-back week in and week out.
