Former Aston Villa loanee Jadon Sancho has reportedly received a lucrative offer to join Al Rayyan. The forward was apart of the Europa League-winning side last season but finds himself without a club after leaving Manchester United as a free agent this summer.
The 26-year-old has reportedly been approached by the Qatari side and eight-time league champions. According to Foot Mercato, Sancho is still searching for a fresh opportunity after departing Old Trafford upon the expiry of his contract.
Al-Rayyan are believed to be hoping to take advantage of Sancho's circumstances and pull off a major coup for the club, as they aim to reclaim the Qatar Stars League title for the first time since 2016.
The winger's departure was confirmed this summer, concluding his five-year association with the club. United eventually secured Sancho's signature, striking a significant deal with Borussia Dortmund, following a transfer saga that dragged on for more than a year.
The reported proposal from the Qatari outfit presents an opportunity for Sancho to revitalise his career after struggling to cement a regular starting position at Chelsea and Villa. While he was predominantly utilised as a substitute for both Premier League clubs, his time proved fruitful as he claimed UEFA Conference League and Europa League honours.
Sancho hasn't posted on social media since his exit from United was announced. The 23-time England international has remained silent online, with his latest post celebrating the Europa League triumph with Villa.
Head coach Unai Emery previously expressed an openness to signing Sancho up to a permanent deal. He said: "Not yet, but he is a fantastic player. Hopefully he can help us by increasing his qualities in our structure like he is doing.
"He will need another contract, and maybe it could be here. If he plays his best football, we will want him. But also other teams could be involved in the interest for him."

Instead, Villa opted to move for Alejandro Garnacho on a season-long loan deal from Chelsea. While Sancho's search for a new club continues.
The forward's time at United soured following a very public falling-out with then-boss Erik ten Hag. His outburst on social media led to a four-month banishment from United, during which he was placed on an individual training regime away from the club.
His departure from United was acknowledged with just a single paragraph in the club's retained list announcement.
A switch to Al-Rayyan would see the 26-year-old unite with Fulham legend Aleksandar Mitrovic, who bagged five goals in 11 appearances following his September arrival.
While the Qatar Stars League may not boast the household names found in the Saudi Pro League, players such as Pablo Sarabia, Krzysztof Piatek and Roberto Firmino all compete throughout the division.
Al-Rayyan may be eager to complete a deal swiftly, as their campaign typically kicks off at the start of August and concludes in mid-April.
The Lions' third-place finish last season secured them a spot in Champions League Two, the Asian Football Confederation's second-tier tournament.
