Sky Sports: 75-app Man Utd man edges closer to Old Trafford exit as Euro giants begin plotting move

Juventus are considering acting on their interest in Joshua Zirkzee after stalling in their talks for Randal Kolo Muani.

According to Sky Sports, Kolo Muani remains Juventus’ priority as things stand, but there is still a ‘gap in valuation’ with Paris Saint-Germain.

Joshua Zirkzee: The state of play

That has prompted them to turn their attention back to Zirkzee, whom they’ve had on their shortlist for some time.

Despite only joining United in 2024, the forward has been linked with the Italian giants on numerous occasions, mainly due to his struggles in M16.

Zirkzee has failed to ever nail down a consistent starting role at United, and the additions of Bryan Mbeumo, Benjamin Sesko and Matheus Cunha last summer did not make his life any easier.

Add that to the fact that United had no European football on the schedule and suffered premature cup exits, and the Dutchman was consequently limited to just five starts in total across all competitions.

How Zirkzee fared last term

All of Zirkzee’s starts came in the Premier League, where he was granted a further 19 appearances off the bench. However, he was an unused option for 12 games in total, and racked up just 609 minutes on the pitch.

Zirkzee’s complete record for United

It’s previously been claimed that the 25-year-old won’t force a move this transfer window, although he will likely be enticed by the prospect of playing a more prominent role elsewhere – and you can’t really blame him.

Zirkzee has earned six senior caps for the Netherlands team in his career, but didn’t even get a look in for Ronald Koeman’s World Cup squad because of his quiet campaign.

A move to the Old Lady would allow Zirkzee to revive his career in a more familiar environment, having spent two years in Serie A with Bologna prior to his United switch.
