Bruno Fernandes earned over £9million from his image rights during the 2024/25 season, according to accounts filed by BF8 Sports last month.
The firm, founded in 2020 and listing Fernandes as its only director, made £9.5million during the period, an increase of £1.1million from the previous 12 months. They also reduced costs by 44%, cutting over £200,000 from their tax and social security bill, leaving them with £9.2million.
That works out at around £176,000 per week, in addition to the around £300,000 in wages Manchester United pay to their captain. Fernandes signed his current contract two years ago this summer.
There are now only 12 months remaining on that deal, though there is an option to extend it by another season. As such, United currently have no plans to offer him a renewal, but that could change during this coming season.
The club have made their view very clear, telling Fernandes earlier this year that they do not want to lose him during this summer's transfer window. That communication follows their flirting with the idea of cashing in 12 months ago, all without informing the midfielder.
However, that episode now appears behind them both, with Fernandes happy to stay. That is particularly the case after seeing signs of progress under Michael Carrick last season.

When asked whether Fernandes would stay after the final Premier League match of last season against Brighton & Hove Albion, United's head coach said: "I've got no reason to think otherwise. We've loved what he's done, and he loves being here, I think you can see that.
"He wanted to stay on [the pitch]. He wants to stay on every single game because he's enjoying his football, which is fantastic."
Fernandes said ahead of this summer's World Cup: "Playing for Manchester United is always a special moment for everyone. At the same time, it brings a lot of responsibility with it.
"But I don't think anyone comes to Manchester United thinking that we won't have the responsibility to win again, to be at the top of the Premier League, at the top of European football.
"The club's history brings that responsibility. Regardless of the most recent years, they were not at the level that the club was used to.
"I think everyone always believes that we can be the ones who are going to do this, the ones who are going to turn the page, the ones who are going to make it possible for United to fight on all fronts. I think that has to be special for us players, to realise that we can be the main, let's say, protagonists of this change of history for United to win again."
