Manchester United academy prospect Jaydan Kamason is preparing to take a major step towards senior football.
The highly rated teenager spoke to the media after producing a standout display in United’s emphatic 5-0 victory over Rosenborg in their second pre-season friendly of the summer.
He came on at the interval and bagged two superb assists to grab the attention of manager Michael Carrick and his coaching staff.
The 19-year-old said (via BBC Sport): “Last season, unfortunately, I had two injuries. Hopefully this season will be more positive.
“I’m just trying to stay fit now and show my ability on the pitch.
“I’m always trying to aspire to get to that level. If I need a few loans or whatever, we’ll have to see, but I’m trying to get to that top level – and that’s Manchester United. You have to be ambitious.”

Kamason has progressed through United’s Emerging Talent Programme and is regarded as one of the club’s most exciting young players.
Naturally deployed at right-back, he possesses the energy and athleticism to relentlessly attack and defend down the flank.
The youngster enjoyed an outstanding 2024-25 campaign, contributing two goals and six assists in 34 appearances across all competitions.
However, injuries disrupted his momentum last season and prevented him from building on that success.
Now fully fit, Kamason appears determined to make up for lost time and continue his development.
A temporary move to a Championship or League One club could provide the perfect platform for his next stage of growth.
Carrick currently has two experienced right-backs at his disposal in Diogo Dalot and Noussair Mazraoui.
Both players are expected to share minutes throughout the season and could also be required to cover at left-back when necessary.
Kamason undoubtedly has the talent to succeed at Old Trafford, but regular first-team football is essential at this stage of his career.
A productive loan spell would not only sharpen his attacking instincts but also improve his positional awareness and defensive decision-making.
If everything goes according to plan, Kamason could return to Carrington next summer as a far more complete player and a genuine first-team contender.
