Casemiro has become the latest big-name signing for Major League Soccer (MLS) as the five-time Champions League winner swapped Manchester United for Inter Miami.
The Brazilian midfielder announced in early 2026 that he'd be leaving Old Trafford at the end of his contract, and the David Beckham co-owned club won the race. He'll now join an exclusive club of players to have played alongside both Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.
Casemiro was one of the highest earners in the Premier League, and he'll now be among the best-paid MLS stars. But how does his new contract compare to the terms he signed at Man Utd?

In 2022, Casemiro put pen to paper on a four-year deal to join Man Utd after spending a decade at Real Madrid. Throughout his time in England, he was the club's top earner.
The Brazil international was taking home £350,000-per-week. That's more than both Bruno Fernandes and Marcus Rashford, who earn £300,000 weekly.

He's now instantly become the second-highest-paid player at Inter Miami. Only Lionel Messi's £309,000 weekly salary can better Casemiro's. The defensive midfielder will be earning £244,000-per-week, according to SalaryLeaks.
It's a significant wage to earn as a 34-year-old veteran. But it still proves that the English Premier League is the best place to be if a player wants to earn a huge salary. He is earning three times as much as Liverpool and Barcelona icon Luis Suarez, who is a new teammate.
Casemiro's Inter Miami Transfer Investigated

The MLS launched an investigation into Casemiro's free transfer to Inter Miami after LA Galaxy accused Inter Miami of negotiating with Casemiro before acquiring his Discovery Priority rights. This is a violation of the league's rules.
Casemiro made his feelings clear that he only wanted to join the Miami-based outfit in the wake of that investigation. In a statement, he said:
"I'd like to clarify the situation, especially regarding the talk about me, by saying that I spoke with the LA Galaxy a while back, but I made it very clear to them that I wanted to play for Inter Miami
"The project and the excitement of playing alongside some of the greatest players of all time - that's a huge motivator."
He added: "I'm incredibly grateful to Inter Miami for making the effort to bring me here; I wanted to be here, too. As I said, Inter Miami was the only place in MLS where I wanted to be. I want to express my thanks and show that on the pitch."
Casemiro made his debut for his new club against CF Montreal. Luis Suarez scored the only goal of the game from the penalty spot as the Brazilian got off to a winning start. Fans made sure to give their verdict on his performance.
