Liverpool's pursuit of Bradley Barcola looks set to step up over the coming weeks of the summer transfer window, with reports claiming that talks have opened on a club-to-club level for a deal.
The 23-year-old has been widely reported as a potential target for the Reds, with Andoni Iraola making it clear that he wants to sign a winger in the coming weeks.
After failing to sign Yan Diomande, who made it clear that his priorities lay elsewhere, Barcola has been deemed a top priority to replace Mohamed Salah on the right wing.
Timing has seemingly been key to any approach for the France international, who saw his season extended by a deep run at the World Cup with his national team.
Combine his need for a break with a final decision that needed to be made over his future at PSG, as he enters the final two years under contract, and it was clear that Liverpool had to wait for a moment to strike.
With his extended break underway, and a decision against signing a new contract, the Reds have pounced and look set to push for a deal before the transfer window closes.

Now, according to Sky Germany's Florian Plettenberg, Liverpool has opened talks with both Barcola's representatives and PSG to understand the terms of a transfer.
It's claimed that the deal is "complicated", one that will heavily rely on suitable financial terms, but the Reds are believed to be determined to get a move across the line to bolster Iraola's options.

It remains to be seen how things will progress in those talks, with PSG likely to maximize the winger's value while he still has two years remaining on his contract in the French capital.
It means there could be a slow move to develop, with timing once again becoming a crucial factor in Liverpool's hopes of getting a deal done.
That said, the club will be keen to get a deal done quickly, especially as pre-season training is now starting to ramp up for Iraola and his team ahead of the new Premier League season.
With a quick start to the campaign viewed as crucial, especially with the new style of play implemented by the head coach, getting the key arrivals through the door as quick as possible will give them more time to adjust.
So far, Liverpool has only added Jeremy Jacquet and Victor Munoz to the team, and with a delayed return for some other key stars who made it deep into the World Cup this summer, the start to the campaign could be rocky.

That said, a deal for Barcola would certainly be a boost for Iraola, which could quickly take the team to the next level.
