Former Manchester United striker Javier Hernandez has completed a move to a new club, with Chicharito now in the twilight years of his playing career

Former Manchester United star Javier Hernandez has joined US-based club Atletico Dallas, just a few months after indicating a change in career. The 38-year-old has been without a club since leaving C.D. Guadalajara in December last year, but is now back in football as he returns to the United States.
Hernandez spent five years at United from 2010-15, scoring 59 goals across 157 appearances and winning two Premier League titles along the way.
Since leaving United, Hernandez has had spells at Real Madrid, West Ham, Sevilla, Bayer Leverkusen and LA Galaxy, before going on to return to his boyhood club in Guadalajara in 2024.

After leaving the Mexican club last year, Hernandez has been without a club, but it has been confirmed that the former United striker has now joined Atletico Dallas, a newly-founded expansion team competing in the USL Championship - the second tier in the United States.
‘Chicharito’ has opened up on his decision to return to football and move back to the United States, almost three years after his departure from LA Galaxy.
“I've been fortunate to live the dreams that every young footballer hopes to experience,” Hernandez said, via the USL’s website.
“I've worn some of the biggest shirts in the world and played in incredible stadiums in front of passionate supporters. Opportunities like this, though, are different.”
“I believe Dallas deserves a club that reflects its passion for football, its diversity, and its future,” said Hernandez.
“I want to help create a winning culture, inspire young players across North Texas, and give our supporters a team they can believe in from the very beginning. I didn't come here simply to finish my career. I came here to help build the future of football in Dallas.”
The announcement of Hernandez moving to Dallas has come just a few months after the former United striker seemingly embarked on a different career path.
Hernandez had begun posting videos on TikTok demonstrating his cooking abilities, showing how to make his favourite sandwich.
The former United striker will have to wait to make his first appearance for Atletico Dallas, when the 2027 season gets underway for the club’s first season in the US second tier.
