Sky: New bid being considered for Man Utd target hailed as ‘unbelievable’ by Pep Guardiola

Chelsea are reportedly considering submitting a new and improved proposal for Alex Scott, according to Sky Sports reporter Florian Plettenberg.

It comes after the London outfit had a £64 million bid rejected by Bournemouth, who remain adamant that their star midfielder is off-limits this summer.

Alex Scott: The state of play after failed Chelsea bid

Scott is tied to the Vitality Stadium until June 2028, so Bournemouth areunder no pressing need to sell.

However, the 22-year-old, hailed as an ‘unbelievable player’ by Pep Guardiola, has rejected two offers to extend his contract, which will undoubtedly be making the Cherries board start to sweat.

Now – before he enters the penultimate year of his deal – would be the best time to secure the highest possible fee for Scott’s signature, especially when Premier League sides are sniffing around trying to prise him from the club.

Although you can understand Bournemouth considering him untouchable, the prospect of losing him for nothing will be unthinkable given the price he could command.

Scott would add to Michael Carrick’s Premier League-proven midfield

United have placed Scott on a shortlist with a handful of alternative names to become the third midfield signing at Old Trafford, following in the footsteps of Andrey Santos and Youri Tielemans – both of whom joined from Premier League clubs.

Along with the England youngster, the likes of Aurelien Tchouameni, Carlos Baleba and Eduardo Camavinga are all under consideration.

An agreement for Tchouameni currently seems as though it would be the most difficult to facilitate, but that could well change pretty swiftly if Real Madrid manage to strike a deal for first-choice midfield target Rodri.
