Joshua Zirkzee
Manchester United‘s Joshua Zirkzee could be on the move and Juventus are working on securing his services this summer.
The Netherlands international hasn’t had a key role since arriving at Old Trafford from Bologna in 2024.
He played 2,901 minutes from 75 matches for Manchester United, of which 645 were from last season.
The forward is attracting interest from a few Italian clubs, who are keen on bringing him back to the country.
On Tuesday, Sport Witness covered claims from Italy that Zirkzee’s agent Kia Joorabchian wants to find the right club for his client. He believes a return to the Serie A is a solution and has held talks with Juventus and Como.
Juventus making advances
Gazzetta dello Sport pick up on that and cover the latest on the Turin club’s pursuit.
Their new technical director, Frederic Massara, arrived after a year at AS Roma. He came close to signing the 25-year-old for the Giallorossi in the winter market before the move collapsed.
Massara highly appreciates him and is ‘ready to rekindle the good ties’ with the Red Devils to sign the Manchester United player.
Joshua Zirkzee, for his part, would ‘greatly appreciate’ a return to Serie A this summer.
Manchester United ready to sanction move
Juventus have intensified contact to sign the former Bayern Munich man. The newspaper claims their officials have received approval from his agent, Kia Joorabchian.
With the attacker open to a move, Juve have to agree terms with Michael Carrick’s side.
Gazzetta states the Italian club have started negotiations with Manchester United, who value him at €35-40m.
The Red Devils are open to sanctioning a loan with an obligation to buy. However, Juve want either a purchase option or a conditional obligation.
The two clubs have started negotiations, and the ongoing discussions could speed up for an agreement. There should be more developments in the next few hours or days if the one of the clubs were to soften/change their stance.
