Real Madrid remain open to selling Eduardo Camavinga despite the midfielder's desire to stay, with Manchester United potentially capable of taking advantage. The 23-year-old faces an uncertain future in the Spanish capital especially with Real still targeting a move for Rodri.
The Spaniard joining from Manchester City would almost certainly result in a marquee departure with that most likely to be in midfield. Aurelien Tchoaumeni is the option United are most interested in but a deal for Camavinga could be too tempting to turn down.
That is because he could be available for just £42million if Real decide to sell, while Tchouameni is expected to cost £68m and with higher wages. Fabrizio Romano has claimed that Camavinga wants to fight for his place under Jose Mourinho - but he may not have a choice if the La Liga giants sign a new option in his position.
He has already stated that the idea of signing Camavinga has been discussed internally at United, but a transfer for the Frenchman is complicated despite Real's potential move for Rodri.
Selling Vinicius Jr to Arsenal could be the exit sealed to help with finances but they appear to have no plans of letting him go this summer.
That is despite Yan Diomande being set to join from RB Leipzig in a deal that exceeds £100m. Though he prefers to play on the left, the deal has no bearing on Real's current Vinicius Jr stance.
Tchoaumeni had reportedly signed a new contract at the Santiago Bernabeu but that was before concrete interest emerged in signing Rodri this summer. Manchester City confirmed earlier this week that he underwent a procedure but that is unlikely to impact a potential transfer.
Elliot Anderson has already seemingly be signed as his replacement at Etihad Stadium. United were strongly linked to the Nottingham Forest star but were ultimately priced out of a deal.
Mateus Fernandes in action for Tottenham

A similar issue arose in their pursuit of Mateus Fernandes, who later joined Tottenham for £85m. Andrey Santos and Youri Tielemans were subsequently signed for that fee combined with a third midfield addition now wanted by United.
AS Roma's Manu Kone, Carlos Baleba of Brighton and Bournemouth star Alex Scott have all been linked recently. The latter appears to be the only player more than likely to stay with the Cherries stating he is not for sale after already rejecting a £64m bid from Chelsea.
Though Camavinga also looks set to remain where he is, the situation around his future could change very quickly depending on Real's own transfer activity.
