July 29 – Real Madrid have expanded their commercial portfolio after agreeing a global partnership with Singapore-headquartered photovoltaic manufacturer Elite Solar – an agreement which will see the company become both an Official Partner and Real Madrid’s Official Solar Panel Provider.
Financial terms were not disclosed for the deal which will see the partners promote solar energy and environmental initiatives through “joint campaigns aimed at supporters, customers and communities” across the club’s international supporter base.
The announcement comes as Real Madrid’s commercial operation enters world-leading status. The club announced this morning that it became the first sports club to report annual revenues of more than €1.2 billion, with sponsorship and marketing income once again playing a key role in its record-breaking financial results.
Real Madrid’s Director of Institutional Relations, Emilio Butragueño, said: “At Real Madrid, we seek partners who share our values and our vision for the future. We are pleased to welcome Elite Solar to our global network of partners.”
Alex Chen, General Manager of Elite Solar, described the agreement as extending beyond traditional sponsorship.
“We are honoured to partner with Real Madrid, one of the most respected and successful organisations in the world,” he said. “This partnership represents far more than a sponsorship; it is a reflection of our shared pursuit of excellence, global impact, and long-term value creation.”
A club statement said the collaboration will focus on “promoting innovation, responsible growth and clean energy through a series of global initiatives”, although further details of those activations have yet to be announced.
The club will hope that this season bears more fruit than last, having gone a second successive season with no silverware to show for it.
They will begin their pursuit of the La Liga title on August 22 away against RCD Espanyol – this time likely armed with potential new €120 million incoming Yan Diomande.
