Juventus are expected to oversee a significant squad overhaul this summer, with several players set to leave as the club looks to reduce the amount of unwanted talent within the current squad.
The process has already begun, with the departure of Lois Openda officially confirmed. As reported by the [Juve official website](https://www.juventus.com/en/news/articles/lyon-loan-for-lois-openda), the Belgian forward has joined Lyon on a loan deal, becoming the first of what is expected to be several exits during the current transfer window.
Juventus begin squad restructuring

Openda arrived in Turin a year ago after establishing himself as one of Europe’s most highly regarded attacking players following an impressive spell at RB Leipzig. Expectations were high when he joined Juventus, but he was unable to replicate that form during his time in Italy.
The forward struggled to make the desired impact under two different managers, failing to secure a consistent role within the team. His performances did not match the standards expected when he signed, making his departure a logical step for both the player and the club.
Loan move offers fresh opportunity

Luciano Spalletti does not consider Openda to be suited to the style of football he wants Juventus to play, and the club has therefore moved to facilitate his departure during the summer transfer window.
The agreement will see Openda spend the season at Lyon on loan for a fee of more than 3 million euros. The French club will also cover part of his salary as he takes the place of Endrick in their squad. The Brazilian spent the second half of last season with Lyon under a similar loan arrangement.
Although his spell at Juventus did not develop as hoped, Openda remains a talented player with proven quality. His difficulties in Italy do not diminish what he achieved before arriving in Turin, particularly during his successful period at Lens. A return to French football could provide the environment needed for him to rediscover his best form. Given his previous success in Ligue 1, it would not be surprising if he performs well once again and rebuilds his reputation during his loan spell with Lyon.
