Manchester United have enjoyed a mixed pre-season under Michael Carrick thus far. But the English manager's squad is sure to be shaken up with the transfer market still wide open.
Having been announced as the Premier League side's permanent manager in May, Carrick is guiding United through pre-season for the very first time. The club began their preparations with a 1-0 loss to Wrexham, but bounced back to impress with a 5-0 win over Norwegian side Rosenborg last week.
Up next is a clash with Atletico Madrid, but some of those who have joined the squad on tour reportedly are free to leave this summer. The Manchester Evening News takes a look at the latest transfer news out of Old Trafford.
Four players on chopping block
The Daily Mail reports that goalkeeper Radek Vitek, defender Harry Amass and midfielders Dan Gore and Toby Collyer are all expected to depart this summer.
Young goalkeeper Vitek, along with Amass, may initially be sent out on loan with a purchase option included. Vitek has attracted interest from several Championship clubs, whilst Amass is valued at around £6million.
Collyer spent last season on loan at Hull City and the newly promoted Tigers are reportedly keen on making the arrangement permanent. Gore is on the chopping block following a loan with Rotherham United.

Marcus Rashford swap deal suggested
Another star with an uncertain future is Marcus Rashford. Despite catching the eye during his loan spell in Catalonia last season, Barcelona chose not to trigger the £26m purchase option included in Rashford's deal, meaning he remains a United player.
The prospect of a return to the Camp Nou appears to have been closed off following the arrivals of Anthony Gordon and Karim Adeyemi, leaving his immediate future very much up in the air — whether he fights for his place at Old Trafford or seeks a fresh challenge elsewhere remains to be seen.
Reports indicate that neither party would ideally wish for Rashford to remain at the club, with Italian outlet Gazzetta dello Sport claiming the Englishman could prove instrumental in securing a deal for United target Manu Kone.

Kone, who currently plies his trade at Roma, caught the eye at the World Cup with France and is reportedly available for £51m this summer. To help fund the transfer and offset his wage demands, it has been suggested in the Italian press that Rashford could head in the opposite direction as part of the arrangement.
Roma are said to be in the market for a left-sided forward but are constrained by Financial Fair Play regulations. Rashford, whose £350,000-per-week wages have proved difficult to shift, could therefore serve as the makeweight in any potential deal for midfielder Kone.
