Preparations for the new 2026/27 season are well underway as Michael Carrick puts his United squad through their paces. The team take on Atletico Madrid in their thrid friendly of pre-season on Saturday (2pm kick-off).
The squad has and will see some new faces added between now and the end of the transder window. So far, United have completed deals for goalkeepers Karl Darlow and Kit Margetson, midfielders Andrey Santos and Youri Tielemans and forward Tynan Thompson.
Carrick will be hoping that there will be more new faces by time the season opener against newly-promoted Hull City comes around on August 22. The club continue to be linked with several players, and hope to sign a third midfielder before the end of the window, with the likes of Manu Kone and Aurelien Tchouameni linked.
Over the last couple of days, there has been talk of a new striker, Dusan Vlahovic is a name who has been mentioned. There's also some reports that United have been offered Chelsea's Liam Delap.
In terms of outgoings, Marcus Rashford is a player who remains at United for now, as does Joshua Zirkzee, but it appears that he could be closing in on a move away.
