Man Utd fans react to Matthijs de Ligt video as an injury update, they’re convinced about one thing

Matthijs de Ligt has finally given the fans a peek into his recovery process, and the fans are convinced about one thing.

The injury to Matthijs de Ligt has been one of the most puzzling developments at Man Utd for the last year or so.

Since Ruben Amorim called it a “small issue” back in November of last year, De Ligt hasn’t been seen training with the team, let alone make an appearance.

He has now posted a peek behind the scenes of how his recovery is coming along, and Man Utd fans are convinced about one thing.

Matthijs de Ligt posts injury update

Amidst all the speculation about his injury, De Ligt has largely kept to himself, with the last major update from him being about his successful surgery.

That was back in May, and it has since been reported that he will miss the start of this season as well.

It came as quite a frustrating development for United fans, who have been kept in the dark about when they can expect to see him back.

De Ligt has now posted what looks like his road to recovery on his Instagram. In a series of photos, he can be seen arriving at Carrington, before taking part in some gym work.

Most importantly, he is doing lower back exercises, which is exactly where he had to get his surgery done.

Clearly, the healing part of the journey is finished, so he has moved on to the strengthening part.

Next up will be the training part, after which he can start to build match fitness. It’s clear that it will be a good two months or so before De Ligt plays for the club again, but this update has the fans convinced about one thing.

De Ligt might complete a full year out of action by the time he returns, but his latest video has him looking in better shape than ever before.

“Eight months out and he’s already squatting more weight than our entire backline. What a progress,” said one excited fan.

Another echoed this excitement, adding, “If those weights get any heavier, he’ll be scoring with his biceps instead of his feet!”

A third fan already declared De Ligt as a storm coming, “Built like a fridge! Get him back in the XI and let him bully someone for 90 minutes.”

A fourth said, “The best defender in the league arrives,” as another wrote, “That back looks good to go!” Another agreed, “Well, the back seems ok now!”

Finally, one fan summed up the sentiment perfectly, “The long wait is nearly over. Matthijs de Ligt is finally back on the grass at Carrington. Missing the World Cup was heartbreaking, but he’s about to come back stronger than ever. What a sight.”
