Man Utd striker Joshua Zirkzee could soon be the subject of three separate bids from Italian clubs, according to reports.
The I Paper claim that Roma, Juventus and Como are all “lining up loan offers with an option or obligation to buy” for the Netherlands international.
It is believed that Michael Carrick’s side are “open” to offloading Zirkzee, but they are looking for a permanent sale.
That means there is still a decent chance that the 25-year-old will stay at Old Trafford unless one of the three interested teams makes a proposal which is too good to turn down.
Carrick doesn’t rate Zirkzee
Based on his game time in the second half of last season, it seems clear that the forward is not one of the manager’s favourites.
Zirkzee started just one match under Carrick following his appointment as interim manager back in January. That was the 0-0 draw against Sunderland in early May. He racked up just 127 minutes of action in total across 10 appearances.
Even with Benjamin Sesko sidelined with a shin injury, Carrick opted to start Bryan Mbeumo up front for the final two Premier League fixtures, rather than select Zirkzee.
Man Utd want to offload another forward
In addition to Zirkzee, the Manchester club would also listen to offers for Marcus Rashford. The England international is expected to be reintegrated into the squad following his return from holiday, but that doesn’t necessarily mean he will stay beyond the summer.
United were hoping to get Rashford’s £300,000 a week salary off the club’s books, but they have had big issues finding a suitable buyer. The proceeds from his sale would have been spent on his replacement, but they have already lost out on one of their main targets – Crysencio Summerville – who has joined Al-Hilal from West Ham.
