Juventus have changed to stay competitive, to start winning again in Italy and to try to spring a surprise in the UEFA Women's Champions League. This summer they have renewed themselves from the top down, appointing Massimiliano Mazzetta as Head of Women's Football in place of Stefano Braghin and bringing a highly successful spell to an end."Winning is not important, it is the only thing that counts". At Juventus that applies at every level, in every category, and it will again be the objective this year despite the revolution. Estelle Cascarino, to West Ham, Mathilde Harviken, to Aston Villa, Paulina Krumbiegel, to Eintracht Frankfurt, Viola Calligaris, to Atletico Madrid, as well as Kullberg, Thomas and above all Lia Walti, have all left Turin. Walti has returned to the WSL with Brighton after a season below expectations.
Bartel, talent and geometry
Juventus have changed their skin, but not their DNA. The new era speaks Spanish, starting in the dugout. To replace Canzi,Isaac Guerrero, former Academy Director & Head of Coaching at Venezia, has got the job. He must lead a side that have invested smartly in the transfer market, bringing high-level players to Italy who know how to win and entertain. In midfield,Julia Bartel has arrived. Born in 2004, she has played for Barcelona, Chelsea and Liverpool, and spent last year at Atletico Madrid. But the biggest splash has come in attack.
Redondo fireworks
The standout signing is undoubtedly AlbaRedondo, a forward born in 1996 who finished as Real Madrid's top scorer in 2024-25 with 28 goals in 69 appearances across the league and the UEFA Women's Champions League. As Juventus' website states, that outstanding scoring record, combined with the assists she has provided in her career, puts her third in Liga history for goal involvements behind only Alexia Putellas and Caroline Graham Hansen.
Juve = rebirth
Redondo is looking to relaunch herself after a difficult season: "My objective is to rediscover myself. Last season was rather difficult for me from a sporting point of view. I want to go back to being the player who enjoys herself on the pitch, who combines with her team-mates and enjoys the game of football. - she told Juventus channels - The number 20 shirt? On 20 August 2023 we became World Champions with Spain and that is why I wanted this number. It is the first time I have worn 20 and I want it to represent something special for me"
