United are considering a move for Newcastle United left-back Lewis Hall as they continue to assess options in that position this summer.
According to Manchester Evening News reporter Samuel Luckhurst, Hall was open to leaving St James’ Park even before uncertainty emerged over Eddie Howe’s future, with United firmly in the market for a new left-back.
Strengthening that area of the squad remains a priority. Injuries have disrupted Luke Shaw’s availability in recent seasons, while United are still weighing up their long-term options on the left side of defence.

Hall, 21, has developed into one of the Premier League’s most highly-rated young full-backs since making his move from Chelsea permanent. Equally comfortable in defence or as a wing-back, the England international attracted plenty of admirers after another impressive campaign with Newcastle.
Any deal would be difficult to complete. Newcastle are under no pressure to sell, and Hall is viewed as an important part of their long-term plans.
There is also no indication that talks have progressed beyond United monitoring the situation at this stage.
However, with the transfer window entering a crucial period, Hall has emerged as another name under consideration as United continue their search for reinforcements.
Whether that interest develops into a formal approach remains to be seen, but the Newcastle defender is firmly on United’s radar.
