Manchester United remain on the hunt for a third midfielder after completing the signings of Andrey Santos from Chelsea and Youri Tielemans from Aston Villa.

Tielemans is yet to feature for his new side. He moved to Old Trafford for £35 million from Aston Villa. The Belgium international should play before the end of pre-season, but won't be ready just yet due to his World Cup campaign.

United have also signed Karl Darlow on a free transfer after he left Leeds United at the end of last season. Tynan Thompson, Cristian Orozco and Kit Margetson make up United's signings for the Under-21s and Emerging Talent Group.

Director of Football Jason Wilcox will still be busy before the end of the summer. He will be looking at a third midfielder, a left-sided player and selling some of United's fringe players.

One option for the third midfield signing is Real Madrid's Aurélien Tchouaméni, although he has recently signed a new contract. That does not seem to be too much of an issue anymore, though.

Tchouaméni seemed to be completely off the cards after he signed a new contract with Real Madrid. However, Madrid's interest in Rodri could see Tchouaméni become a possible signing one again.

Ramon Alvarez has reported that if Rodri signs for Real Madrid, that could change Tchouaméni's situation at the club.

If the Manchester City midfielder does sign for Jose Mourinho's side, that will mean a departure for one of their midfielders, claims Alvarez.

Rodri's potential transfer was not considered when Tchouaméni signed his new deal, so the Frenchman could be the one to exit the club.

While it is not known if Tchouaméni is available just yet, United should push for the France international now.

If United show their interest, offer him a salary he would accept, and show they are willing to bid for him, Tchouaméni's head could be turned, especially if it looks like Real Madrid are going to sell him over Camavinga or Valverde.

Tchouaméni was linked to Manchester United in the summer they signed Casemiro. He moved to Madrid to replace the Brazilian, and now he could move to Old Trafford to do the same thing once again.
