Marcus Rashford has posted a farewell message to Barcelona as the Manchester United star is shown support by his former teammates.

Rashford spent last season on loan at Barcelona, and there was an expectation that the England international would go on to complete a permanent switch to the Camp Nou.

Barcelona had the option of signing Rashford for £26million, but have chosen not to activate the clause and have instead opted to bring Anthony Gordon and Karim Adeyemi to the club.

Rashford will now return to United this summer following his break after the World Cup, and the 28-year-old has now sent a message to Barcelona offering his appreciation to the club and its supporters.

“I’m very grateful to everyone at the club for making my time here such a positive and memorable experience,” Rashford posted on Instagram.

“I’ve enjoyed every moment and will take many special memories with me.

“I wish the club and all its supporters the very best of luck and every success in the season ahead. Visca el Barça [Long live Barca].”
