Marcus Rashford has now closed the Barcelona chapter of his career with a public message, and the responses say everything about his time there.
After Barcelona decided not to exercise their option to buy Marcus Rashford, the dream for him has been dashed.
Rashford publicly begged Barcelona to sign him numerous times last season, but there is finally a sense of acceptance from him that it’s not happening.
After some social media shenanigans, Rashford has publicly closed the chapter on that spell, with the responses saying a lot about his time in Catalonia.

Marcus Rashford closes the Barcelona chapter
Rashford only spent a year at Barcelona, but he made no effort to hide the fact that he loved it there and would rather stay permanently.
He did his part; to be fair to him, finishing in double figures for both goals and assists, but the club clearly looked for a different skill set in Anthony Gordon.
Nevertheless, he has sent a final message to his loan club for last season that is classy and slightly bittersweet.

He said (via his Instagram): “I’m very grateful to everyone at the club for making my time here such a positive and memorable experience. I’ve enjoyed every moment and will take many special memories with me.
“I wish the club and all its supporters the very best of luck and every success in the season ahead. Visca el Barca”
Rashford became a crucial part of Barcelona
Despite spending only a season in Spain, the responses to his Instagram message became flooded with Barcelona players.

Raphinha wished him all the best, while Gavi wrote, “I’ll miss you brother,” (translated from Spanish).
Ferran Torres, the goalscorer in the World Cup final, wrote, “Love u bro,” as Barcelona also sent him a message, writing, “Thank you for everything, Rashy. You will always be one of us.”
Alejandro Balde called him “my brother”, as Fermin Lopez said, “All the best my bro, I will miss you Rashy.”
Marc Bernal and Morgan Rogers were among the others to respond, as it became clear that Rashford truly carved out a place for himself in Barcelona.
Now, however, he needs to put that behind him and concentrate on rediscovering a place for himself at Old Trafford.
If he can play here with the same commitment and drive as he did at Barcelona, then this story can yet have a beautiful ending.
