The agent of San Lorenzo’s Orlando Gill says he has received “enquiries from Manchester United” about the goalkeeper.
Speaking to DSports Radio (quotes translated by Sport Witness), Gill’s representative Mario Jara said:
“We’ve had conversations with clubs in England, as well as Germany. There were enquiries from Manchester United.”
Jara went on to confirm that a move to an unspecified team is at an advanced stage:
“We’ve only had two concrete offers. We’re in the middle of negotiations… The sale is close. This is the right time. We have to handle it very carefully because there are many things involved. It’s the ideal moment for him to take the next step…”
“We’re trying to get it done as quickly as possible for everyone’s benefit. It would also be very important for San Lorenzo.”
Man United were reportedly lining up a bid for Gill
At the end of last week, reports in the Argentinian media claimed that the Red Devils were poised to table a formal offer for the Paraguayan international, although nothing more was heard about the proposal.
It is believed that San Lorenzo are holding out for a fee in the region of €10m (£8.6m) for Gill. Olympiakos have already made an official approach, while Aston Villa and Ipswich have also been linked.

Do United still want a new keeper?
It may well be the case that Jara received the enquiry from Michael Carrick’s side some time ago. Karl Darlow’s free transfer was only made official on July 14th.
The 35-year-old’s arrival means that there are currently 5 goalkeepers on the club’s books, including Senne Lammens, Tom Heaton, Altay Bayindir and Radek Vitek. However, the latter two are expected to leave before the transfer window closes.
