Manchester United are interested in a deal for€50m Serie A winger

Francisco Conceição to Manchester United: Manchester United have entered the conversation for Juventus winger Francisco Conceição, though any attempt to strike a deal already faces a sizeable obstacle. According to TuttoJuve, with the report relayed by Transfer Feed, Michael Carrick has identified the Portugal international as a player capable of strengthening his attacking options.

Juventus have no intention of making negotiations easy. The Serie A club reportedly want at least €50 million (£43 million) before they would even begin serious talks with INEOS, while lower offers are expected to receive an immediate rejection. Conceição remains under contract until 2030, giving Juventus complete control over the situation.

Inside Turin, there is little expectation that the 23-year-old will leave this summer. Club officials reportedly see him as part of their long-term plans, and only an extraordinary proposal would force a fresh discussion.

His numbers explain that stance. Conceição played 31 Serie A matches during the 2025/26 campaign, scoring four goals and supplying five assists. Across all competitions, he featured 42 times, including nine UEFA Champions League appearances. He then represented Portugal at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, making four appearances before their Round of 16 exit.

Why Francisco Conceicao to Manchester United raises genuine doubts

Carrick clearly values quick, aggressive wide players who attack defenders without hesitation. Conceição certainly belongs in that category. Even so, Manchester United already possess several options for the same role.

Amad Diallo finally enjoyed the breakthrough season fans had waited for. Bryan Mbeumo is there along with Shea Lacey. Another €50 million winger feels more like an expensive luxury than an urgent requirement. United’s biggest issue sits elsewhere. Benjamin Šeško cannot shoulder the central attacking burden alone across a demanding season. That area still lacks enough depth and variety.

Does Francisco Conceicao to Manchester United solve the real problem?

Conceição’s strengths are obvious. He beats defenders, changes direction in tight spaces and carries the ball with real intent. Those qualities would improve many teams. Yet four league goals last season hardly suggest a forward capable of transforming United’s attack on his own.

INEOS have already committed significant money during this transfer window, while midfield reinforcement through players such as Youri Tielemans and Andrey Santos still demands attention. Spending another €50 million on a right winger risks ignoring the squad’s biggest weakness.

Scorzo’s opinion: Francisco Conceicao to Manchester United makes sense on talent alone. Squad planning tells a different story. Carrick already has enough options in wide areas, whereas the middle of the attack still lacks depth behind Benjamin Šeško. Unless several attackers leave before the window closes, directing another €50 million into the right flank feels difficult to defend.
