The Tyler Fredricson transfer has been officially confirmed after the Manchester United defender agreed a permanent move to Lausanne-Sport.
The deal remains subject to registration, while United have not disclosed the transfer fee.
Fredricson leaves Old Trafford after joining the academy at Under-9 level and progressing through every stage of the club’s youth system.
The 21-year-old made his senior debut against Wolverhampton Wanderers in April 2025. He later featured against Brentford, Grimsby Town and Newcastle United.
United is all that Tyler Fredricson has ever known.
But now it's time for a new adventure.
Tyler departs with our thanks for his contributions and best wishes for the next chapter ❤️

Fredricson played throughout United’s run to the 2022 FA Youth Cup final, although illness ruled him out of the victory over Nottingham Forest.
He later won the Denzil Haroun Reserve-Team Player of the Year award in 2025. However, competition across United’s defence restricted his route towards regular first-team football.
“Joining the club at Under-9 level, Tyler has been a model professional throughout his time with the club,” United said in their official announcement.
Lausanne should provide the centre-back with a clearer route towards consistent senior minutes. The Swiss club confirmed that Fredricson has already trained with his new team-mates.
His departure continues United’s attempt to make decisions on academy players without obvious opportunities under Michael Carrick.
Radek Vitek, Harry Amass, Dan Gore and Toby Collyer have also been informed that senior minutes could be limited, as covered in ReadManUtd’s latest academy update.
Fredricson achieved the ambition of representing his boyhood club at senior level. His permanent move now gives him the opportunity to establish himself in first-team football.
