Two former Manchester United players are in agreement that Marcus Rashford should stay at Old Trafford this summer. The forward is facing an uncertain future ahead of the new campaign after missing out on a permanent move to Barcelona. He spent last season on loan at the Nou Camp and impressed throughout, but the Catalan giants instead decided to sign Anthony Gordon from Newcastle.
It means Rashford is currently poised to return to United, although there is still a chance that he could leave before the end of the window. It's been reported that he could join another Premier League club, with Tottenham and Arsenal said to be keen. Elsewhere, it's been claimed that Rashford could be used as a makeweight for United to sign Roma midfielder Manu Kone.
Italian publication Gazzetta dello Sport reports that Kone is priced at approximately £51million and Roma would welcome adding Rashford to their ranks.
However, the appointment of Michael Carrick has prompted two club legends to suggest there exists a chance for Rashford to resurrect his United career next season.
Former midfielder Paul Ince reckons Rashford would flourish playing under Carrick, with the duo having previously been United team-mates and also collaborating during the manager's earlier coaching stints at Old Trafford.
"I think Carrick can get the best out of him. I really, really do," Ince told Oddschecker.
"If Carrick just puts his arm around him and says, 'Yeah, listen, you know, I want you at the club, I need you at the club. This is where you're going to play. This is what you're going to do.' Then I believe you're going to see a very, very good Rashford for Manchester United."
Ince's views are mirrored by former United defender Wes Brown. The five-time Premier League champion is convinced that Carrick would embrace Rashford back into his squad, considering what the former Barcelona loanee can bring to his attacking options.

"I'm sure Michael Carrick would love him back because it gives him another option," Brown told The Sun on behalf of LiveFootballTickets.
If he could come into the scene this season, that helps out massively. I'm still not sure what's going to happen, but I think if it was just up to Michael, he would definitely be back in.
"Obviously Marcus would have loved to have probably stayed at Barca. They went another way, so I'm not sure what other options there is really.
"For me, it's always time. People always fall out and you can always rekindle things in football. It's just the way it is. I think it'll be a boost for Michael for him to be here next season."
Rashford has two years left to run on his United deal. The forward has turned out 426 times for his boyhood club, netting 138 goals and laying on 79 assists.
