The Golden State Warriors still have roster spots to fill after missing out on LeBron James, and four names have emerged as possible minimum-contract options.
According to ClutchPoints' Brett Siegel on the Clutch Scoops podcast, Golden State has three open roster spots and around $8 million to work with before hitting its hard cap at the apron.
With the Warriors limited financially, the team is now looking at cheaper depth options to complete the roster around Stephen Curry, Jimmy Butler, and Draymond Green.
"Some names on minimum contracts, there's four of them right now that we're paying attention to," Siegel said. 'It's Kelly Olynyk… Brandon Williams… Gabe Vincent… And then Gary Payton II."
Kelly Olynyk remains a Warriors name to watch
Olynyk is one of the more familiar names on Golden State's radar.
According to Siegel, the veteran big man has been linked to the Warriors before and has been a target for the franchise over the last few years.
"Kelly Olynyk, a guy that has been linked to the Warriors before," Siegel said. "He's been a target of them for the last two to three years. He's going to be an option on a minimum deal."
Olynyk had a limited role with the Spurs last season, averaging 3.2 points, 1.8 rebounds, and 1.2 assists in 8.6 minutes, but his experience and floor-spacing ability could still make him an interesting minimum-contract option for Golden State.

Warriors interested in Brandon Williams
Golden State is also looking at guard depth, and Williams is one of the names mentioned.
Siegel said the Warriors have interest in Williams, who is currently a free agent after playing solid for the Dallas Mavericks last season and averaging 13.0 points and 3.9 assists per game.
"Brandon Williams is another player that we know they have interest in," Siegel said. "He's a free agent, played well for the Dallas Mavericks last year at the guard position.”
The Warriors are expected to add at least one more backcourt player, making Williams one of the more realistic names to monitor if the team wants another guard on a minimum deal.
Gabe Vincent also mentioned as guard option
Vincent was also included among the four minimum-contract names Golden State is watching.
Siegel did not provide as much detail on Vincent, but the veteran guard was still listed as part of the Warriors' potential market.
Vincent had a quiet 2025-26 campaign split between the Lakers and Hawks, but his playoff experience and ability to handle backup guard minutes could still appeal to Golden State.

Gary Payton II return remains possible
The most familiar option is Payton, who has already had multiple stints with the Warriors.
According to Siegel, there is still mutual interest between Payton and Golden State, though the role would likely be limited.
"Gary Payton II, there's still mutual interest between them to possibly bring him back in a reserve off-the-bench type role," Siegel said.
Payton remained a familiar energy piece for the Warriors last season, averaging 7.5 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 0.9 steals, while his defensive fit and history with the team make a potential return easy to understand.
