PSG have agreed a deal to sign Monaco winger Maghnes Akliouche, perhaps signalling that they are ready to sell Bradley Barcola to Liverpool.

Monaco accept PSG bid for Maghnes Akliouche

Having withdrawn from the race to sign Yan Diomande, PSG have opted to recruit Akliouche from Monaco.

It is widely reported that the Parisiens have had a bid of £42.7 million accepted by their Ligue 1 opponents for the left-footed right-winger.

This Is Anfield understands that Liverpool actually enquired about the 24-year-old’s availability earlier this summer.

However, it seems Barcola was their priority and Akliouche moving to PSG could open the door for Liverpool to get their man.

The selling club are not exactly cash-strapped so they can still drive the price for Barcola, reportedly valued by PSG at £145m.

The Reds won’t pay that sum, though, and see his price as closer to £80m.

• Inter have returned with an improved offer for Curtis Jones of £29.9m, according to the Athletic – that is still below Liverpool’s valuation which is upwards of £34m

• Liverpool youngster Oakley Cannonier has moved to Singapore Premier League side Hougang United – in his farewell social media post, he made a point to only thank “SOME of the staff”

• Liverpool are to have the strange quirk of facing six clubs with new managers in their first six games: Newcastle, Forest, Ipswich, Fulham, Bournemouth and Man City – let’s hope there’s no new manager bounce for them!

Happy Birthday to Calvin Ramsay who turns 23 years old, having been born on July 31, 2003.

If the relatively young full-back impresses Iraola in pre-season, he could enjoy an unexpected renaissance after threatening to break into the squad properly last year.

With Conor Bradley still out for a long period and Liverpool not convinced on Jeremie Frimpong‘s ability to be their first-choice right-back, there is a door open for Ramsay to fill the Scottish void left by Andy Robertson‘s exit.
