CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) - The Cleveland Cavaliers have signed forward Mario Hezonja.
Hezonja, 31, returns to the NBA for the first time since the 2019-20 season after playing professionally in Greece, Russia, and Spain over the last six years.
The 6-foot-9 forward most recently played for Real Madrid during the 2025-26 season, where he was named the Liga ACB Most Valuable Player after averaging 15.0 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 2.1 assists. During his four years with Real Madrid, Hezonja also helped lead the team to a EuroLeague championship in 2023 and consecutive Liga ACB titles in 2024 and 2025.
Selected fifth overall by the Orlando Magic in the 2015 NBA Draft, the Croatian native has averaged 6.9 points and 3.1 rebounds in 330 career NBA games with Orlando, New York, and Portland.
