Manchester United have one month remaining before the summer transfer window closes on September 1. Michael Carrick's side have secured five new signings as the manager seeks to rebuild his squad.

Youri Tielemans and Andrey Santos spearhead the midfield overhaul, while goalkeeper Karl Darlow has been brought in as experienced cover for Senne Lammens. United have also recruited young shot-stopper Kit Margetson and highly-rated winger Tynan Thompson as the club prepare for the future.

There has already been a goalkeeping reshuffle at the club, despite Lammens establishing himself as first choice last term, with Andre Onana returning on loan to Trabzonspor and Altay Bayindir and Radek Vitek being linked with exits. However, an agent has revealed that United made an approach for Orlando Gill, who impressed at this summer's World Cup.

Meanwhile, United have been linked with a potential move for Francisco Conceicao as Juventus complete a move in the transfer market. Here, MEN Sportl examines some of the biggest stories surrounding the club.

Agent confirms Man Utd transfer approach

United are claimed to have made contact regarding a potential transfer for San Lorenzo goalkeeper Orlando Gill, whose displays for Paraguay earned widespread acclaim during the World Cup. The club appear unlikely to pursue the 26-year-old following the signing of Darlow, yet Gill's agent Mario Jara confirmed that United were among the clubs to register interest in his client.

"We are in talks with English clubs as well as clubs in Germany," Jara told DSports Radio. "There were enquiries with Manchester United. We only received two concrete offers. We are currently in the negotiation phase.

"The sale is close, the time is right. We have to handle it very carefully because there are many things involved. It's ideal for him to take a step up in quality. He's prepared and capable of playing in any league, without a doubt."

He added: "We're trying to finalise it as quickly as possible for everyone's benefit. It would be very important for San Lorenzo; hopefully, it will come to fruition."

Stance on £42m star emerges

United could reportedly stand to gain from Juventus securing the signature of Bayer Leverkusen prospect Kerim Alajbegovic. The Italian heavyweights are reportedly willing to offload winger Francisco Conceicao, who has been linked with a switch to Old Trafford.

Italian outlet Gazzetta dello Sport reports that both United and Liverpool have lodged enquiries regarding the 23-year-old, with Juventus believed to be seeking a fee of between £34m and £42m. A Premier League switch is regarded as probable for Conceicao, who featured 42 times for Juventus last season.

It is understood that the club have taken the difficult decision to offload the forward to balance the books after signing Alajbegovic from Leverkusen.
