‘Would love him back’ – Wes Brown makes Rashford United claim
Wes Brown believes Marcus Rashford could provide Michael Carrick with a major attacking boost if he remains at Manchester United.
Brown believes relationships can be rebuilt and expects Carrick would welcome the England international back.
Rashford spent last season on loan at Barcelona, scoring 14 goals and providing 14 assists as the Spanish club won La Liga.
Barcelona decided against activating their option to sign the 28-year-old permanently. Rashford is therefore due to return to Carrington following his post-World Cup break.
Speaking exclusively to GIVEMESPORT, Brown believes the situation could still end positively for both parties.
“I’m sure Michael Carrick would love him back because it gives him another option,” Brown said.
“If he could come into the scene this season, that helps out massively.”
🗣️ “Very largely, if Manchester United have a season where Marcus Rashford is able to play a lot of minutes and Luke Shaw is available to play a lot of minutes, United tend to play well.”@Ankaman616 on Marcus Rashford in the latest Temperature Check episode👀🔴

Rashford has not played for United since December 2024 after subsequently spending time on loan with Aston Villa and Barcelona.
However, the situation has changed considerably since Michael Carrick replaced Ruben Amorim.
Brown believes enough time has passed for previous disagreements to be put aside. He also pointed towards Rashford’s performances for Barcelona and England at the World Cup as evidence that he can still contribute at the highest level.
ReadManUtd recently reported that Andy Mitten now believes there is an 80 per cent chance of Rashford playing for United again. That represents a dramatic change from earlier in the year, when a permanent exit appeared almost inevitable.
Rashford’s salary could still complicate any potential departure. Brown believes United will need to reach a decision quickly as Carrick finalises his squad before the Premier League season.
If a suitable offer does not arrive, reintegrating a player who produced 28 goal contributions for Barcelona could prove more valuable than forcing through an unwanted exit.
