Liverpool have received a huge transfer boost in their quest to sign Bradley Barcola. Paris Saint-Germain appear to be plotting a transfer replacement for the forward, which suggests they are planning for life after the France star.
The Reds are eying a potential Premier League transfer record move for the Frenchman. Barcola, 23, has already signalled his desire to search for pastures new this season after winning back-to-back Champions League titles in Paris.
PSG boss Luis Enrique is also understood to be willing to allow him to depart this summer as well. The French heavyweights are believed to be after £145million to sell him.
By the time Liverpool meet this figure, if they decide to do so, PSG may have a replacement already in the building. According to Fabrizio Romano, PSG have opened talks to sign Ajax prodigy Mika Godts.
The Belgian burst onto the scene last season with some truly breath-taking numbers for the Amsterdam heavyweights. He contributed 17 goals and 15 assists in 44 appearances in all competitions, figures which have garnered the attention of the Champions League holders.
He has already started this season well by scoring two goals in two appearances in Ajax's recent UEFA Conference League qualifiers. However, his performances did not quite earn him a call-up to the Belgian national side for the World Cup, a decision which raised many eyebrows at the time.

Either way, the fact PSG are plotting to fill the space potentially left behind by Barcola suggests there is a huge chance Liverpool will be able to sign him. Last season, Barcola helped himself to 13 goals and five assist in 46 appearances for the French champions.
He also managed to grab three goals and one assist in eight World Cup appearances for France, who went on to finish fourth in the competition. The figure which has been banded around is £145m, which would comfortably surpass the £125m the Reds forked out last year for Alexander Isak.
It would be a Premier League transfer record and the third-most expensive transfer in football history, with only Neymar and Kylian Mbappe's move to PSG ahead of it in the pecking order. It was also reported that Enrique has made it clear he only wants players who are 100 per cent committed to the club.

Other than Barcola, it has been relatively quiet on the transfer front at Anfield. While Jeremy Jacquet arrived at the club, seven months after a deal for him was agreed in January, only Victor Munoz of Osasuna has moved to Liverpool this summer.
With Joe Gomez recently picking up an injury in the friendly against Sunderland, a new central defender is also believed to be on the club's shortlist. There is still time for moves to be wrapped up before the start of the new campaign.
They face Leeds United in Chicago, before two friendlies at Anfield against Monaco and FC Como. Iraola's first Premier League campaign as Reds manager will then get underway with an away clash against Newcastle United on August 23.
