Manchester United are still looking to add a new forward to their squad this summer, and they could now hijack a £51m deal to make it happen.
The Red Devils have prioritised rebuilding their midfield so far in this summer window, bringing in Andrey Santos and Youri Tielemans, and there has been lots of interest in bringing in a third midfielder at some point too.
But a forward has been at the top of their wishlist too as Michael Carrick looks to add to his squad ahead of their return to the Champions League, and a long-term target could now be available.
Man Utd Contacted Over Godts Deal

According to Fabrizio Romano, European champions Paris Saint-Germain have entered into talks with Ajax over a deal to sign winger Mika Godts this summer.
The player is understood to be open to a move to Paris, while the Ligue 1 side have been told it will cost them around €60m (£51m) to complete a deal for the forward, who registered a stunning 17 goals and 12 assists in 32 appearances.
Godts, who has been described as 'special', is someone who had been watched closely by Man Utd over the most recent campaign, and they have now been informed of the opportunity to step into the deal.
Man Utd had asked to be kept informed on the situation involving the Belgian's future throughout the transfer window, and they retain an interest in the 21-year-old.
United are still keen to bolster their forward options, and are prioritising a deal to bring in a versatile forward who can play across the front line. Godts fits the bill, and the club have been informed that they can still make their presence felt in the race for his signature.
However, PSG remain confident of getting a deal done with talks ongoing to find an agreement with the Eredivisie giants.
Rashford Future Could Be Key

Man Utd know they want a new forward to come into the club, but with Marcus Rashford's future still undetermined, it is likely a key factor in them pursuing any deals.
Rashford is expected to return to the squad for pre-season and be reintegrated into the squad, but both the club and player are open to a move away currently, and should an offer come in then those plans could change.
As a result, United are open to any market opportunities in that department, but they are risking missing out on some top targets while they wait on a final decision to be made. If they want Godts, they may have to risk having both him and Rashford in the squad, which would hardly be a bad thing as they look for their first trophy since 2024.
